Fantasy Football Stock Report: Jimmy Graham activated from PUP list

Every morning we compile the most important fantasy football links of the day for you to stay up-to-date and ahead of your fantasy opponents… This is your number one place for beat writer blabber, injury news, transaction tracking, and fantasy analysis from the experts who taught us a thing or two.

Big news out of Seahawks camp as Jimmy Graham is back for Seattle after coming off the PUP list with a knee injury. In his first year with Seattle, Graham saw his numbers plummet compared to when he had Drew Brees slinging the rock to him down in the Bayou. With the retirement of Marshawn Lynch paired with Russell Wilson’s ascension, it looks like the Seahawks might be shifting into an aerial team. Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett’s huge explosions at the end of last season hold high hopes for Graham who is exponentially cheaper in drafts now than he has been in the past.

“A day after tweaking his foot in practice and violently spiking his helmet in frustration, the Pats’ No. 1 receiver was back on the field wearing shorts and shells, catching passes and even leaving his feet cleanly.”

Kevin Patra – NFL.com

Patriots Nation exhales one huge sigh of relief in unison. It appears Edelman avoided a major injury on the foot he injured last season, as he was back out at practice running like nothing happened. Edelman’s stock has been rising and dropping like crazy the last month between the suspension of Tom Brady, returning from the PUP list, supposedly injuring his foot, and now running routes back at practice today. Edelman is someone to monitor very closely through the preseason, as he’s someone who provides elite receiver value in PPR leagues when healthy (and has Tom throwing him the ball).

“Tate is expected to play a big role in the Lions offense this season, but it is prized free-agent acquisition Marvin Jones who looks like the club’s top wideout. And in recent days, it hasn’t been all that close.”

Kyle Meinke – Mlive.com

This comes as surprising news as Marvin Jones has looked like the best Lions receiver out of camp thus far. Tate is reportedly struggling with a case of the “dropsies”. Coming over from the Bengals, Jones was expected to fill into the #2 spot alongside Golden Tate in the departure of Calvin Johnson. Last year Tate had 90 catches for 813 yards and 6 touchdowns. Those are very good numbers, and that’s being opposite of Megatron. With him gone, one would expect Jones to put up numbers slightly similar to Tate, but if he is looking like their #1 receiver, Jones’ stock could shoot way up. We know how much Detroit likes to throw so keep an eye on this wide receiver battle.

“As for Giovani Bernard, I don’t expect his role out of the backfield to change much off of last year where he ended up targeted 66 times. The most targets in his career came in his rookie season with 71.”

Paul Dehner Jr – Cincinnati.com

Gio Bernard was someone we thought could end up leading all running backs in receptions this year with an increased workload. It appears that we shouldn’t expect a large increase in targets, which really hurts Bernard’s fantasy value. Jeremy Hill was recently named the #1 back, so Gio is really limited to his receptions out of the backfield unless Hill has an absolute meltdown. This is not a good look for Bernard moving forward this season.
