Horrible news coming out of San Diego, as Philip Rivers’ main man, Keenan Allen, has been lost for the year with a torn ACL.
The Rivers- Allen connection was cooking early to the tune of 6 receptions for 63 yards. Allen fell to the turf — untouched — while running a route. He was then carted off the field.

This is devastating news for a San Diego Chargers team that was rolling on all cylinders in the first half against the Chiefs. This will obviously hurt Rivers’ fantasy stock but it should be a good thing for Melvin Gordon and Danny Woodhead — both whom have had a good opener. The ceiling will be higher for Travis Benjamin due to volume, but he will receive more attention from opposing defenses.
Overall, it will be an interesting situation for the Chargers.
