To keep this to a fantasy football perspective, Colin Kaepernick should be an upgrade over Blaine Gabbert, especially in Chip Kelly’s offensive system. Kaep and Carlos Hyde can run the read option and if Kaepernick returns to even a shell of his old self, he could be a borderline QB2 based on the matchup. Kaepernick has a favorable schedule coming up — at Buffalo, Tampa Bay and New Orleans — so we should get a decent glimpse of how he fits in Kelly’s offense. This could be troubling for Jeremy Kerley owners, as Gabbert and Kerley had a pretty good connection going.

It looks like Dez Bryant‘s frustrating season will continue, as it looks like Bryant will sit out this week, then they’ll have the bye week and then hopefully he’ll return for Week 8. If you own Bryant, I assume you know how to handle things with his prolonged absence. All I’m going to say is, expect Ezekiel Elliott to get fed again on Sunday.

The Lions are without Ameer Abdullah for an extended period of time, Dwayne Washington is hurt, Zach Zenner sucks and Theo Riddick is banged up. Enter Justin Forsett. The former Raven will get some touches on Sunday; however, there’s no need to pick him up — unless Riddick get knocked out of the game. Forsett is a three-down back and could provide a spark in the passing game, but that’s Riddick’s job barring injury.
