2017 Fantasy Football Rankings: Quarterback Cheatsheet
Below, find a copy of all our tiers mashed together, with the biggest movers summarized
Rank | Name (Team) | Movement |
---|---|---|
Tier One - The Elite | ||
1 | Tom Brady (NE) | Though he was already #1, Brady's status is further cemented with Brandin Cooks added to an already stacked weapons cabinet. 50+ TDs are very real. |
2 | Aaron Rodgers (GB) | |
Tier 1.5 | ||
3 | Drew Brees (NO) | The loss of Cooks hurts, but only marginally. The pass attempts will always be there in Sean Payton's offense, and Ted Ginn (mildly) softens the blow as a deep threat |
4 | Matt Ryan (ATL) | |
Tier 2 - Upside QB1s | ||
5 | Andrew Luck (IND) | |
6 | Derek Carr (OAK) | |
7 | Kirk Cousins (WAS) | (+2, from QB9) Though the loss of DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon stings, Terrelle Pryor brings more to the table than either. If Josh Doctson rounds into form, this offense should be even more dangerous than the one Cousins nearly tossed 5,000 yards in. |
8 | Dak Prescott (DAL) | |
9 | Marcus Mariota (TEN) | |
10 | Ben Roethisberger (PIT) | (+3, from QB13) Martavis. Bryant. |
Tier 3 - Remaining QB1s | ||
11 | Philip Rivers (LAC) | |
12 | Russell Wilson (SEA) | |
13 | Jameis Winston (TB) | (+2) DeSean Jackson was the PERFECT addition to this offense, and his deep-ball wizardry should mess perfectly with Winston's rocket arm -- and launch the third year pro into "worthy starter" consideration. |
14 | Tyrod Taylor (BUF) | |
Tier Four - Upside QB2s | ||
15 | Cam Newton (CAR) | (-8) First, coach Ron Rivera says the team wants to limit Newton's carries. Then, Cam needs offseason shoulder surgery to his throwing should, and is now questionable for the start of camp. The upside as a QB2 is astronomical, but Newton can no longer be viewed as a starting option. |
16 | Eli Manning (NYG) | (+5) The Giants run more 3-wide sets than any other team, and are now rolling out what could be the league's most dangerous trio in Odell Beckham, the newly added Brandon Marshall, and a developing Sterling Shepard. Even Eli can't fuck that up, right? |
17 | Matthew Stafford (DET) | |
18 | Carson Wentz (PHI) | (Previously unranked) Wentz flashed brilliance throughout his rookie campaign, despite having arguably the worst receiving corps at his disposal. Now, he gets a bonafide alpha in Alshon Jeffery and a certified deep artist in Torrey Smith all added to Jordan Matthews, who should roam wild in the slot now. Wentz and his underrated athleticism instantly vault into sexy QB2. range; I wouldn't be shocked if he was 2017's massive breakout at the position. |
Tier Five - Remaining Draft-Worthy QB2s | ||
19 | Blake Bortles (JAC) | |
20 | Carson Palmer (ARI) | |
21 | Andy Dalton (CIN) | |
22 | Ryan Tannehill (MIA) |
