Well that was fun while it lasted. The apparent heir to former Steelers tight end god Heath Miller was just released today as Ladarius Green was released after a failed physical. Green showed some promise but had struggled with prior injuries that kept him off the field more often than not. Instead, it looks like Jesse James will be the guy to step into the valuable TE1 spot in Big Ben’s offense. The opportunity is there, James just has to actually take it.

Rookie receiver Zay Jones suffered a knee sprain in Tuesday’s OTA practice and is considered week to week going forward. For those of you who are unaware of Jones, he ranked as #7 in our initial rookie rankings post-draft. Jones should slide right into the #2 spot in Buffalo which has some significant fantasy potential this year. Last year it was the combination of Robert Woods and Marquise Goodwin that did some damage from the #2 spot. Jones is a threat to do the same and maybe more this year with the Bills, so hopefully this knee injury doesn’t hold him out for too long.

“We’re faster obviously. With John Ross’ speed that will be a big factor. Teams will have to know where he is because of that speed,” Dalton said. “It may level out some of these safeties who are tilting toward A.J. Now when you’ve got a guy who can run like he can you’ve got a big threat going deep. I think that’s one of the big things we’ll have is speed on the field. I would think that with (Mixon’s) versatility – the ability to run and catch – I think that’s going to be big.” Geoff Hobson – bengals.com

Bengals QB Andy Dalton had this to say about the state of the offense going into the 2017 season. It’s pretty evident he’ll have new toys to work with as the additions of both John Ross and Joe Mixon are very intriguing. The more weapons the Red Rifle can have at his disposal, the bigger fantasy potential he has. Dalton was actually a serviceable fantasy QB last season, and with more talent surrounding him now could push into a solid weekly starter at the QB spot.
