Tier 1 – Genuinely Impactful Notes

These blurbs will undoubtedly cause moves and shakes on the ranks. This could range from significant injury, job promotions and demotions, unexpected volume or role changes, etc.

Mark the date! We have the most recent news regarding the Ezekiel Elliott saga:

Although it’s possible that Zeke receives a reduction in his suspension, I certainly hope you don’t draft this day, as his rank will be all over the place! It’s a tricky situation, and it is advised that you try to figure out a plan, and we have just the thing for you!

It can also be noted that Harold Henderson, as a non-biased party, will oversee the appeal. Cowboys should remember him from a recent Domestic Violence incident with one of their players, Greg Hardy in July of 2015. The original suspension for Hardy was slated for 10 games, but was reduced to 4. Some hope yet for those who plan on, or who have already drafted Zeke.

Also, the NFLPA went ALL IN against the NFL, tweeting out this gem. Get ready for a war.

Tier 2 – Fodder to File

Interesting stories to file away, though they might not cause immediate waves on the rankings quite yet. This is the puff stories that we want to see some actual tape / action backing up, stories or injuries that need more concrete developments before we move people in the ranks, etc.

Interesting reports out of Arizona have us talking about a new potential ‘Penny Stock’, Jaron Brown. No, that’s not a typo, John Brown is still fighting to get back to 100%.

This shouldn’t be brushed aside, however. A capable and mature offense, the Cardinals can produce fantasy relevant players outside of David Johnson and Larry FitzgeraldYou could do much worse with one of your last picks!

Speaking of Brown, how about we pluralize it. News from the Cleveland…

Hmmmmmm, interesting. To be honest, this scares me. Brock Osweiler was once declared a throw in/cut candidate for a team with young, semi-promising QB’s in DeShone Kizer and Cody Kessler. Now, he’s starting his second preseason game in a row. It is also important to note that the whoever the Browns start in Game 3 of the preseason will be the starter… #BuckleUpCleveland

Injury Report

  • Packers wide receiver turned running back Ty Montgomery is “working through” a lower leg injury. The injury has sidelined him the last two days, and has allowed Jamaal Williams to receive the bulk of the first team reps
  • Titans running back DeMarco Murray is expected to make his preseason debut this Saturday. against the Panthers. After returning to practice this past Monday, he worked against the Panthers in a joint practice Wednesday
  • Redskins 2nd year wide receiver Josh Doctson returned to practice for the first time since a slightly pulled hamstring left him sidelined August 6th
  • As a bit of a feel-good/comeback story, the No. 34 pick in the 2016 draft Jaylon Smith, who suffered a scary knee injury in his last year at Notre Dame, will make his NFL debut in the Cowboys’ preseason game Saturday
