NFL Trade Deadline 2017: Fantasy Football Reactions and Rumors

The NFL Trade Deadline is here, and busier than ever before! Find out all the crucial Fantasy Football moves and rumors now!

Though the NFL Trade Deadline usually passes without so much as a whimper, this year has already provided fireworks in bunches. According to Adam Schefter, we might only be getting started:

As such, the Roto Street Journal has you covered with all the important fantasy football trade deadline moves, our reactions, and all the rumors compiled in one convenient package.

Moves:

Tuesday:

  • In a stunner, the Eagles acquired Jay Ajayi for a fourth round pick.  Even with less expected volume, Ajayi’s value soars thanks to a vastly improved line and overall offensive situation. For more details on LeGarrete Blount‘s downfall & the Miami backfield moving forward, click here.
  • The Bills made a move right as the clock struck 4PM, as they reunited HC Sean McDermott with his former wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin. Good things will be coming for Tyrod Taylor and co., and The Wolf gives you his full fantasy analysis on both teams, here.

Monday:

  • The Texans traded stud LT Duane Brown to the Seahawks for Jeremy Lane, a 2018 5th-round pick and a 2019 second-round pick. This move is huge for Russel Wilson and the Seattle passing game, as his blindside finally has legitimate protection. They’ve already (and deservedly) abandoned the run game, so expect the Aerial Show to only continue moving forward.
  • Jimmy Garoppolo has been sent to San Francisco for a 2nd round pick. Though he is not expected to start immediately, Garoppolo will undoubtedly provide a major boost to this offense once he learns the ropes. Pierre Garcon becomes much more attractive with a legitimate quarterback now delivering the mail, and makes for an interesting “Buy Low” after a few duds. Meanwhile, Carlos Hyde, Matt Breida, and the run game as a whole benefit from less defensive attention and clogged boxes. Finally, Marquise Goodwin may also have his insane speed and sleeper potential maximized.

Rumors:

Jarvis Landry is another Dolphin who could be had:

*Fantasy Owners pray that Landry is moved to the Patriots, where he’d catch 1,000 balls*

3:18 PM UPDATE:

Will the Cowboys make a move for a RB in light of Ezekiel Elliott’s suspension?

This move would be the stuff of my Wet Fantasy Football Dreams. DeMarco Murray would return to the situation that made him a bonafide RB1, while, more importantly, unlocking Derrick Henry‘s cage door. Owners of Henry and Murray HAVE to be praying for this right now.

Colts Firesale: Donte Moncrief & TY Hilton could be on new teams:

Bills, Jets, and Browns seem to have the most glaring WR vacancies. A move to any of these teams would mean massive volume increases, although the Browns QB situation would render this meaningless.

Larry Fitzgerald has been spotted around Boston (maybe)…

2:30 PM UPDATE: NEVERMIND!

With Carson Palmer out, a trade would be the only way for Fitzgerald to sustain legitimate 2017 value. But a trade to New England to play with the GOAT?! He’d become a bonafide high-end WR2, potential WR1. Stay tuned to see if this potential dream comes true.

Josh Gordon reinstated and on the move?

Since Josh Gordon completed his rehab assignment in September, people were speculating when or if he would be reinstated by the league. Well, Adam Schefter tweeted that the wide receiver was spotted in NYC today and a source confirmed to him that Gordon will meet with the league on Wednesday. Will the Browns part ways with the troubled wideout? This has potential to happen.

The Steelers will not trade Martavis Bryant

After demanding a trade, getting benched and JuJu Smith-Schuster exploding on Sunday Night Football, it would make sense for the Steelers to part ways with Martavis Bryant. However, it doesn’t look like it’s happening.
