Kenyan Drake truthers united on Monday afternoon when he was dealt from the lowly Dolphins, to the Cardinals’ ‘Air Raid’ offense.
Right away, the Dolphins gave Mark Walton the keys to the backfield in a tough Monday Night matchup against the Steelers. Walton didn’t show much, but the tanking ‘Fins gave him 14 total touches to Kalen Ballage’s four total touches. The trade and subsequent usage increased Walton’s ownership from 34 percent to 48 percent, meaning there’s a decent chance a (shitty) team’s RB1 is still out there. Walton is The Wolf’s ROS RB44 (+5 vs ECR).
From Drake’s perspective, Chase Edmonds has already been declared out for the Cardinals’ Thursday Night’s game against the 49ers and with Drake’s acquisition, Edmond’s will likely be out at least a couple of weeks. On Wednesday, Kingsbury said David Johnson would be a “game-time decision,” but it wouldn’t make sense for the Cardinals to desperately trade for Drake if DJ were to be on his way back to owning that backfield.
“At the end of the day, my whole entire thing is I wanted to be able to eat,” Drake said on Tuesday. “I can’t complain about the food that’s on my plate. I’m here to eat.
“I was ecstatic to come play with this high-octane offense, a young quarterback as in Kyler Murray. He can pretty much do it all,” Drake added. “It’s just kind of cool to be in this system with Coach Kingsbury.”
Although Drake is happy about his new landing spot, The Wolf doesn’t seem so estatic. He has the Cardinals’ new running back ranked as his ROS RB45 (-9 vs ECR).
