If you want a good laugh, search “Ronald Jones” in the RSJ search feed. In there you’ll find everything from me calling him the RB4 in his class, to us calling his fit with the Bucs a ‘Fantasy Value Hole‘, to The Wolf labeling him as a bust in his first preseason, to me calling him “Fantasy’s Biggest Bargain,” and so on, and so on. It’s quite the trip and we’re about to write another chapter.
After out-touching the plodding Peyton Barber 20-to-4 in the Bucs’ shootout with the Seahawks, Bruce Arians said the sophomore running back has “earned the right to start” and “play more snaps.” Splitting the load with Barber through nine weeks, Jones had slightly out-rushed Barber 314 yards to 262 yards.
Currently 2-6, the Bucs season is pretty much over, so it makes sense for Arians to see what the high draft pick can do, instead of watching Barber stumble for three yards on every play.
Mr. Jones is up to Wolf’s RB33 (+5 vs ECR) on his ROS Big Board.
