RSJ’s Jackson Barrett created a value-based drafting Excel tool to create the preseason values for this Fantasy Football Trade Value Chart. The tool uses the FantasyPros consensus projections to assign values based on a 12-team, full PPR league.
Each week throughout the season, these values will be altered to reflect the player’s value for the rest of the season. Changes made to player’s value will be based on FantasyPros Rest of Season ECR, results from the season thus far, and The Wolf’s Rest of Season Rankings. But for the most part, the below values should generally reflect consensus rankings. The values provided also allow for comparing player values across positions, not just within one positional group.
For more information on how to make successful deals, check out our strategies for negotiating trades.
Be sure to tune back each week throughout the season. We’ll be adjusting the chart, discussing risers & fallers, and pinpointing trade targets.
The trade value chart for each position is linked below.
Fantasy Football Week 5 Trade Value Chart: Quarterbacks
Quarterback Riser
No matter whether you attribute Sam Darnold’s success to his individual talent or Kevin O’Connell’s scheme, he’s undeniably balling through four games. The Minnesota offense is firing on all cylinders and Darnold is the QB5 in fantasy.
Darnold is the only quarterback with multiple passing touchdowns in all four games this season and he’s finished as a weekly QB1 in three consecutive weeks. Darnold is also dominating the elite efficiency metrics as well.
He ranks 3rd in CPOE and 4th in EPA per play. Darnold is executing O’Connell’s offense to perfection and is thriving alongside Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and Jalen Nailor. Until something changes, Darnold should be viewed as a weekly QB1.
Quarterback Faller
Jalen Hurts has just not lived up to his elite QB pedigree so far this season. He’s cleared 20 fantasy points just once this season and comes in as the QB9 through four weeks. It’s not enough to fully panic about Hurts’ future outlook, but his value has taken a hit over the last few weeks.
Hurts’ biggest issues have revolved around his ability to keep the ball safe. He has a turnover in every game this season and has 29 total turnovers since the start of last season, the most of any quarterback. It shouldn’t come as a shock that he leads all quarterbacks in turnover-worthy plays according to PFF.
Hurts will be looking to regroup during the Eagles’ Week 5 bye. Hurts should be rejoined by A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Lane Johnson in Week 6, all of whom elevate Philadelphia’s offensive outlook. There should be better days ahead for Hurts, but his performance after a month of play warrants a knock in value.
Quarterback Trade Target
A rough Week 1 outing (8.1 points) has driven Joe Burrow’s season-long fantasy production to QB10. Burrow got things back on track in Week 2 and is averaging 20.0 PPG across his last three games.
In those three games, Burrow has a 70.5-percent completion percentage and is averaging 7.75 yards per attempt. His 0.53 fantasy points per dropback rank 9th among quarterbacks in this timeframe.
Burrow benefits from being in one of the few offenses that is truly pass-heavy. Cincinnati’s 6.1-percent PROE leads all teams and Burrow’s 134 pass attempts come in at 9th among QBs.
Cincinnati’s offense flows through Burrow’s arm and he will be one of the high-end pocket passers in fantasy moving forward. If someone isn’t weighing throwing out his poor Week 1, you may be able to get him on the cheap.
